dziennika podrozy ciag dalszy

W czwartek przyjechalisy do Munnar. Jest to miasteczko polozone w Ghatach Zachodnich juz w Kerali. Podroz by³a niezwykle malownicza, najpierw bardzo kreta droga wspinalismy siê na przelecz, przekroczylismy granice stanu (z Tamilnadu do Kerali) by potem mijajac lasy i plantacje kardamonu wjechac w teren pokryty jak okiem siegnac przez plantacje herbaty. Widoki przepiekne! Niskie rowno przystrzyzone krzaczki herbaty pokrywaja wzgorza i pagorki jakby gestym zielonym dywanem. Mialam wrazenia jakbym nagle znalazla sie w jakims nierealnym swiecie, po prostu w bajce. Dojechalismy w koncu do Munnar i tu rozczarowanie! Miasto przepelnione ludzmi, glosne spiewy z megafonow, zupelnie nie to czego sie spodziewalismy. Mialam nadzieje ze spedzimy kilka dni w cichym i urokliwym miejscu a tu taka niespodzianka. Okazalo sie ze w czwartek bylo swieto Dnia Republiki i tlumy Hindusow zrobily sobie wolny weekend i powyjezdzali oni w rozne atrakcyjne miejsca. Jutro ruszamy dalej :-)

On Thursday we left Madurai and after about 5 hrs journey we arrived in Munnar. It is a town situated in the Western Ghats, already in Kerala. The journey itself was spectacular, with breathtaking views as we climed up on the twisty road and then after leaving Tamilnadu the road went through the forests, cardamon plantations to enter the area covered as far as we could see by tea bushes. 54 thousands acres! And all belonges to „Tata”, the huge Indian motocompany . I couldn't believe my eyes! I felt like in a movie or a fairy-tale so beautiful it was all around. We arrived eventually in Munnar and to our surprise the town was packed with people. We hoped to find peace and quiet here and get a few days relax so at first we were very disappointed. But luckily our hotel is about 1 km away from the town center as we stay in the Old Munnar. Yesterday morning we took a motoriksha and went for a half day tour around the area to see the views and the tea plantations. It was so beautiful! In the afternoon we went for a walk in the area and found a few quiet and pretty spots. This morning we took another motoriksha and went in the other dirction, again passing some extremely picturesque places. Tomorrow we are again on the move :-)

Ponizej pare widokow z okolic Munnar / below some views from Munnar area
